ETCH lab is the research extension of ETCH, and its members include volunteer researchers, several of whom are also affiliated with the SAND Lab at University of Chicago. ETCH Lab develops research-driven tools addressing security, AI, and digital harms—translating academic work into real-world protections for users and creators.
